Chansons et Madrigaux – Summer Fling Singers
Summer Fling Singers present “Chansons et Madrigaux,” a concert of French chansons from the Renaissance and early 20th century for their 10th anniversary season.
Each year, Summer Fling Singers chooses a different style or composer of a cappella music to focus upon. Once decided, a local director is selected to coach us through the repertoire and conduct us. They are a mixed chamber group of community choir singers skipping out for a month during the summer to explore new genres and experience small ensemble a cappella singing.
Requiem – Epiphany Parish Seattle
Music at Epiphany performs Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Requiem with orchestra for their All Saints’ Day Evensong.
Messiah – Epiphany Parish Seattle
Music at Epiphany continues its annual presentation of George Frideric Handel’s famous oratorio, Messiah, performed by an all-star Baroque orchestra under the direction of Zach Hemenway. The Epiphany Choir will be joined by four outstanding soloists and period instruments in the warm acoustics of Epiphany for this presentation of a holiday favorite.
Missa votiva – Epiphany Parish Seattle
Music at Epiphany performs a seldom-heard masterpiece by Jan Dismas Zelenka, his Missa votiva, accompanied by an all-star Baroque orchestra under the direction of Zach Hemenway. The Epiphany Choir will be joined by four outstanding soloists and period instruments in the warm acoustics of Epiphany for this festive spring concert.
Garden of Loves
Northwest Chamber Chorus presents “Garden of Loves,” embracing one another as we are, in joy and conversation.
Anchored by Argentinean composer Carlos Guastavino’s charming and evocative Indianas, our season finale focuses on the things and people we hold dear. We explore the richness of love and life through connection with nature and one another, and the ecstatic joy of finding inspiration. The music of Guastavino, along with Astor Piazzolla, Modesta Bor, and others, invites us to encounter the sublime in its various forms, whether it be a wandering spirit, dark pines in the wind, or the caressing light of dawn.

With its soaring solos, majestic choruses, and breathtaking orchestral writing, the unfinished Grand Mass in C Minor stands as a testament to Mozart’s genius and spiritual depth. we will be your refuge
Northwest Chamber Chorus presents “we will be your refuge,” a promise of comfort and welcome, featuring Duruflé’s Requiem.
Following in the footsteps of his French forefather Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Duruflé composed a Requiem of immense warmth and comfort, rather than a reminder of the day of wrath. We perform this iconic work inspired by, and elaborating on, Gregorian chant in its chamber orchestration, joined on the program by Caroline Shaw’s refugee cantata, To the Hands. Her work is in turn inspired by, and elaborates on, Dietrich Buxtehude’s cantata of the same name, Ad manus. Two works, at once modern and ancient, that remind us of the importance of comforting and welcoming one another in times of need and strife.
